is a communications strategist who has served as a spokesman and advisor for candidates, elected officials, ballot measures, professional sports teams, Fortune 500 companies, startups and nonprofits. Previously, Arellano was the vice president of communications for the Bay Area Council, a regional chamber of commerce that works on behalf of the Bay Area’s largest businesses to influence public policy. He was also the communications director for Next Generation, an organization started by California billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer and children’s advocate Jim Steyer. From 2006-2010, Arellano served as a spokesman and advisor for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, and he currently serves as Commissioner and President of the Juvenile Probation Commission for San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. He also worked in communications roles for Congresswoman Jackie Speier and former U.S. Senator Mark Udall.
